ONE

A near-black surface that opens up as you approach, with colour from the earlier layers showing at the edge of each pass.

FINCHFIELD

Painted in London.

Deep greens and blacks pulled vertically down the canvas and cut by a pale horizontal line, so the upper half seems to reflect in the lower, like trees in still water. A passage of rust red breaks in at the top right.

An original, one-off painting, signed and dated. Delivered stretched on a timber frame, with a certificate of authenticity. Ships worldwide; delivery is charged separately.
 

EUPHORIA
Oil and 24-karat gold on linen, 200 × 200 cm, 2021 · SOLD

A scraped, layered ground with a second, looser layer of poured and thrown paint across it, finished in gold.

CURE

Stone greys built up and scraped back until the surface holds like old plaster. Faint traces of rose and charcoal surface near the top, and a soft drift of ochre warms the lower edge, as if light is coming in low from one side.




NIGHTFALL
Oil on linen, 200 × 200 cm, 2021 · SOLD

Blacks, deep browns and a clear cornflower blue thrown and poured in long looping lines across raw linen, layer over layer, until the surface becomes a dense web. Flecks of white catch like light through branches, and bare grey linen shows through the gaps.




CHALK
Oil on linen, 200 × 185 cm, 2021 · SOLD

Chalk whites laid on thick with the knife, then dragged and scraped back so dark underlayers of navy and charcoal break through in short horizontal lines, like old whitewash wearing off a wall. A faint blush of rose sits near the top edge, and a band of deep blue shows at the bottom where the paint gives way.
